The real risks and reasonable terms of infrastructure investment

Most of the infrastructure funds which have come to the market over the past few years have advertised the advantageous characteristics of infrastructure assets for investors’ portfolios, such as low risk, moderate volatility, stable and predictable revenue streams, with little correlation to industry/business cycles and other asset classes. However, given the target returns most funds have marketed, it is questionable how supposedly conservative, low-risk assets can possibly meet these targets.
